DINE, Wine & good coffee
Cypriots live and breathe food. We talk about the food while eating it—and about what we’re going to eat next before the meal has even finished.
If a visitor from a big city, where you can find just about everything, came to Nicosia, we would take them to places that are unique in their own way—places that truly capture the essence of our city.
Tocayo is a go-to spot for elevated dining, blending sleek vibes with bold flavors from Southeast Asia and Latin America. Designed for sharing, the menu features standout dishes like beef tartare, Peruvian chicken, and crispy pork bao. Add their killer cocktails and top-tier ingredients, and you’ve got a dining experience that hits differently.
Kuzuba is a restaurant on a beautiful, tree-lined street, born from three friends’ shared love of food, design, and good wine. Inspired by local products and Cypriot cuisine, the menu offers a delicious selection of traditional dishes with a modern twist. Open for lunch and dinner, Kuzuba boasts an incredible wine list and a warm, attentive staff who serve you with care and a smile.
Granazi is a contemporary liquor bar set in an old house in the heart of Nicosia. It exudes character, with thoughtful interior design, great attention to detail, and a charming courtyard. Granazi serves signature alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, along with a well-curated wine list and a food menu perfect for sharing.
We also love Ukiyo, a Japanese-inspired listening gastro bar. It’s an audiophile’s paradise, where you can sip impeccable cocktails and enjoy a carefully crafted, small food menu centered around robata—Japanese fireside cooking.
For dinner, we would go to Beba, a modern restaurant serving Greek and Cypriot flavors. The food is unpretentious, and the service is excellent. It strikes the perfect balance—not overly traditional but not excessively modernized either. Cooking is done in a wood-fired oven, and the menu is kept simple: a single-page selection complemented by a list of daily specials based on what’s in season and available. We always try to get a table in the backyard, which is filled with trees and plants, making it a truly beautiful setting.
An alternative to Beba is Topika, a more relaxed option within walking distance from Interlace, or Aigaion, located in the courtyard of an old traditional house in the old town, inside the city walls. For meat lovers that don’t care much about décor we would recommend Treis kai o Koukos, although it is short drive from Interlace.
Near Interlace, we would recommend Leventis for traditional souvlaki or Il Baccaro for an Italian night.
For brunch or a casual lunch, our go-to spots are Silver Pot, The Cyprus Museum Café, Zest, or Istorja.
A bar that draws a crowd even on weekdays is Silver Star Bar, also within walking distance from Interlace. It’s classy yet effortlessly cool and relaxed, with a loyal following. The staff has extensive wine knowledge, and while the wine selection is impressive, we often go for the cocktails—they’re as refined as the place itself.
